Sumatra 'Black Satin' Roast Coffee

Continuing the tradition of wonderful island coffee, we present this dark roasted coffee from Sumatra.  Sumatra is an island in Indonesia, northwest from Java.  It is the largest producer of Indonesian coffees.  Sumatra’s coffee was popularized in the early 1800’s by the Dutch East India Trading Company that was looking to export this wonderful coffee worldwide.

Taste

As dark roast coffee goes, you can beat this bean.  It has a rich brown sugar taste with a thick and syrupy chocolate feel to the mouth.  Sumatra coffee is well known  for its full body texture, mild earthy  notes and deep-toned coffee aroma.  For those looking for low acidity, this coffee is perfect for you but with a slight black pepper finish.
